Volunteer Opportunities
Small Repair Volunteer- Individuals who are handy around the home, or skilled craftspeople are desperately needed to handle small emergency repairs that arise for low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners. Tell us where and how often you would like to volunteer, and we will utilize your talents to help these homeowners. All materials are provided.
House Captain- Do you like supervising and organizing others? Do you possess some practical knowledge of home repairs, yard clean up or house painting? If so, we really need you! Being a house captain requires a total of approximately 25-40 hours. The majority of this time is in March and April and culminates on our National Rebuilding Day on the last Saturday in April each year.
Office Volunteer- If you can help with mailings, file, and do odds and ends around the office 1 or 2 days a week, we could really use your help. Some very basic computer skills would be beneficial.
Board Member- If you have a strong desire to be involved in the decision-making and governing process of our organization, this may be an area to investigate. Board meetings are held monthly (sometimes more often in March and April), and take place on Monday nights.
Committee Member- We have many committees that need additional volunteers, including the fundraising committee, area/ house captain committee, board development committee, publicity committee and Rebuilding Day clean up committee as well as several others.
